Prop 50 stands, and so does the will of California voters.

The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to block or review challenges to California’s Proposition 50, leaving the new congressional maps in place for the 2026 elections. With the Court choosing not to intervene, the redistricting changes approved by voters will guide our upcoming congressional races.
As your next governor, and consistent with the reasons I’ve outlined in my earlier bullet points explaining my support for Prop 50, I believe this is a sound decision by the Court. Any action with the potential to disrupt or undermine our democratic republic’s processes must be approached with seriousness and respect for the will of the voters.
